Umbraco Award Winning CMS

Umbraco is an award-winning Content Management System that currently has about half-a-million websites running on it. The Microsoft based CMS has won three separate awards this year.

1: Visual Studio Magazine 2020 Reader’s Choice Award: Gold, Content Management System

Umbraco received this award on 1^st of November this year, a major feather in the cap for the Denmark based dev team started by Niels Hartvig in the early 2000s. The Reader’s Choice award runs across 40 categories and 400 products. Each category offers Gold, Silver and Bronze awards and all winners are chosen by the readers of the Visual Studio Magazine.

Umbaco CMS was followed by N2 Open Source ASP.NET CMS and Orchard CMS.

2: The Future Unicorn Award 2019

The Future Unicorn Award celebrates European SMEs; it is run by DIGITALEUROPE a trade association representing European digital industries. The award aims to showcase companies with high growth potential.

The Umbraco Content Management System was handpicked out of 35,000 SMEs across Europe,

3: Best Enterprise CMS

Umbraco was chosen as the Best Open Source Enterprise CMS by CMS Critic (https://www.cmscritic.com/awards/) . Last year it won Best Open Source Enterprise CMS.

This award highlights that even though Umbraco is open source it is still trusted by big business.

It has been able to make the best of its core strengths, which include:

• Speed – 10x faster than WordPress
• Hacker resistance – 100x more secure than WordPress
• Extensible through the Microsoft tech stack, with is light years more technically advanced than the old PHP script that WordPress is based on.

These three major 2019 awards show that Umbraco is growing from strength to strength and is gaining wide acceptance, especially in the corporate space.
