Compozr PDF Document Builder Open Beta Release
Reliable Multi-Document Distributor
The distribution of a collection of related documents remains a daily headache for digital workers.
Packs of documents assembled for projects, product catalogs, albums and other submissions, remain difficult to distribute reliably despite the plethora of digital communication channels available. Issues that have to be overcome, include reliable distribution channels, receipt errors and document security.
At the receiving end, the original document structure needs to be duplicated for the recipient. Document packs uploaded to a service like Dropbox require expertise with downloading for reassembly. Which can become a hit or miss operation, requiring additional communication to resolve issues of missing files or links.
Other options, such as sending attachments via email, often require multiple emails to overcome mail sizing limits. As a consequence, requiring the recipient to download and assemble the structure in the correct order before the submission becomes usable.
Compozr Document Compiler
Compozr developed by local software developer Syncrony Digital has been designed to solve this problem.
Compozr makes it easy to compile an assembly of various document types into a secure, distribution ready PDF. The distributable PDF, called a compozition, contains all the related documents as well as a detailed, clickable index and a custom cover page. During compilation, the index can be edited and documents can be shortened, re-positioned and moved. The completed PDF can be distributed either as a download or otherwise cloud hosted for viewing.
Crucially, cloud hosted compozitions, updated in Compozr will reflect the latest updates, without requiring reloading.
Open Beta
While the long-term plan is to market Compozr as a professional document assembler and compiler, the initial release has been made available as an open beta. Beta users have between March and April to test system. The Beta program will end at the beginning of May 2020.

Compozr History
The idea behind Compozr came from BoardCloud, a Syncrony Digital product aimed at the production of board packs for board meetings in organisations. Company secretaries traditionally prepare board packets consisting of reams of documents that have to be copied and distributed to board members ahead of meetings. Over the period between 2013 and 2019, Syncrony developed technology to create digital board packs from large volumes of documents assembled from a number of sources. This technology was used to create Compozr and to provide access to the document merging and distribution capabilities to a wider audience.
Syncrony Digital is a Sandton-based information technology house that has been producing custom software for enterprise and government customers for over 20-years.
