About Merchello
Merchello is a fully open source online store development toolbox. Developed by Across the Pond a small development company run by developers Rusty Swayne and Lee Messenger.
The product is by no means short of features (and we intend to fully test it in early 2017). Of course, in the Umbraco tradition, the core system can be extended and modified to fit just about any e-commerce requirement.
Feature Summary:
Merchello comes with the following core features, but it's also built so you can expand on it to your needs.
Here's what you get right out of the box:
- Products with options and variants
- Extending Content on products
- Collection management for product, invoices and customers
- Flat rate shipping provider by weight or price
- Invoicing
- Orders
- Cash payments
- Payment gateways out of the box include: PayPal and BrainTree
- Multi-currency capabilities
- Coupons
- Reporting
Products
Products are grouped as collections, which relate to categories. This allows for multiple category levels (sub-categories).
Reporting
A range of financial reports are available and more can be added as required. Available reports include:
- Sales over time
- Sales by item
- Week by week comparison
- Abandoned baskets
Umbraco Versions Supported
Merchello supports all version 7 derivatives from 7.0 to 7.4 (and hopefully soon 7.5).
Support
The software is supported and developed as Open Source but the developers do allow for ‘Gratitude Licensing’, where optional payments may be made by grateful users.
